How to read a product page properly

The listing tells you more than the photos do. Here is the order to read it in, and the four details that decide whether an item is worth buying.

Photos sell an item; the written part of the listing tells you whether it will suit you. Read the specification block before the description, because that is where measurements, materials, capacities and compatibility live, and it is the part a seller cannot phrase loosely.

Check the variant you have actually selected. Colour and size options often carry different prices, different stock and sometimes different dispatch times, and the gallery rarely updates to match. A price that looks unusually low is frequently attached to the least popular variant.

Then read the delivery and returns panel. Dispatch time is separate from transit time, and the two together are what determines when the parcel lands. The returns line tells you who pays for the return and how long you have, which matters far more on clothing and electronics than on anything else.

Finally read the recent reviews rather than the overall score. A four-star average built from fifty reviews across two years describes a product; the same average where every recent review mentions a change in packaging or quality describes a product that has changed. Sort by newest and read ten.
